He asked...She said  Yes!

OUR PROPSAL STORY

                                                                                        VIK'S STORY

Krishma and I have been together for several years now and I thought it was time to finally put a ring on it. Before anything even happened I took her parents out for dinner to ask for their permission and approval to marry their daughter. At that dinner I had also decided that NYC was the place I had to propose to her because anyone who knows Krishma knows that it is her favorite city in the world. It took several months of planning and a lot of stress to work out the details all the while keeping it quiet as to surprise her. We flew up there and spent a couple of days exploring the city trying to take in as much as we could. On our last day, we got ready and did some last minute sightseeing and took a stroll through the famous Central Park. While walking through the park we came across the place where I had our photographer set up a picnic for us. Not going to lie I was pretty nervous, and blacked out during my speech. All I remember is that SHE SAID YES with a tear in her eye and the biggest smile on her face while she looked down at the ring. So I think it's safe to say it went well. As a hotelier the Plaza hotel is considered a holy Grail for hotels and I knew that's where we had to be to celebrate this big step in our lives together. Afterwards we walked over to an incredible Italian restaurant where I had made reservations a month in advance because it was so popular. The trip was worth every bit because I got to come home with Krishma as my fiancee.

KRISHMA'S STORY

It all began when Vik told me he wanted to take me on vacation to commemorate being done with my 1st year of graduate school. He wanted to make it a surprise, so he kept the destination hidden. When it was time to go on vacation, he finally told me we were going to my absolute favorite city in the world, New York City. The first couple of days, we did everything from eating NY style pizza to watching Wicked on broadway and even taking a boat ride around the island. On our last day, Vik told me to get dressed up because we were going to have a fancy day/night out. We walked around a couple of museums before he suggested we take a stroll through Central Park. It was a beautiful, sunny day in the park. The greenery perfectly complemented the city around us. As we were walking through the park, Vik pointed down a small hill. There was a picnic set up with flowers and a bottle of wine. We walked down, and took in the beautiful views of the trees, and the Plaza in the background. When I looked back at Vik, he took my hand in his (which was incredibly sweaty, lol) and got down on one knee. He then asked me to marry him. I SAID YES (of course). He had hired a photographer that was hiding behind a tree, and she captured our perfect moment on camera. We ended our stay in NYC with cocktails at The Plaza Hotel and dinner at an amazing Italian restaurant. After 4 years together, the man of my dreams asked me to marry him, and I couldn't be happier! Let the wedding planning commence!
